Preparation and application procedure

REGULAR TREATED WOOD

PREPARATION
Procedure:

  • Sand well to roughen the surface (with 40 grain sandpaper)
  • Rinse the surface thoroughly with a 2000 lb. pressure washer.
  • Clean with undiluted Texnov Surface Preparer.
  • Vigorously brush the surface and let act for 15 to 30 minutes.
  • Rinse the surface thoroughly with a pressure washer.
  • Let the surface dry over a 48-hour period of good weather before applying the finish coating.
SEALANT
Not apllicable
FINISH
After preparing the surface …

Procedure:

  • Yo can fill the screw heads with Texnov Acrylic Coating (Screws should be rust proof:zinc, ceramic).
  • Apply 2 coats of Texnov Acrylic Coating. Use a brush or roller with 10 mm bristles (24 hours between each coat).
  • Let the surface dry over a 24-hour period of good weather before applying the sealant.

Notes:

  • Texnov Acrylic Coating will not hide all defects due to an unevenly installed substrate.
SEALANT
After preparing the surface and applying the coating (if neccesary) …

Procedure:

  • Apply 2 coats of Met-30 Sealant. Use a brush or roller with 10 mm bristles (24 hours between each coat).
  • Let the surface dry for a 24-hour period of good weather.

Note: All wood surfaces located less than 60″ from the ground or poorly ventilated should ideally be sealed on all sides with Met-30 Sealant. This will prevent premature deterioration of the wood due to the migration of moisture from the ground to the sky.

SOFTWOOD

PREPARATION
Procedure:

  • Sand well to roughen the surface (with 40 grain sandpaper).

  • Clean with Texnov surface preparer.
  • Vigorously brush the surfaceand let act for 15 to 30 minutes .
  • Rinse the surface thoroughly with a pressure washer.
  • let the surface dry over a 48 – hout period of good weather before applying the sealant.

Procedure:

  • Texnov Met-30 sealant must be applied on the complete surface of some softwood-based substrates before installing the finish coating.

Example:

  • Yellow pine
  • Cedar
  • Etc…
  • Let the surface dry over a 44-hour period of good weather before applying the finish coating.
FINISH
After preparing the surface and applying the sealant…

Procedure:

– Apply 2 coats of TexNov Acrylic Coating. Use a brush or roller with 10 mm bristles (24 hours between each coat).

GREEN WOOD

It is not recommended to install TexNov Acrylic Coating on wood that has not been dried (or wood that is still green).

Maintenance:

Clean the surface with TexNov Surface Preparer (3 water / 1 Preparer). Let dry and add a coat of Met-30 Sealant every 3 years or as needed. This should enable you to keep your surface in good condition.
