PLYWOOD / CRESS PLYWOOD / PLYWOOD PANEL

Preparation and application procedure

COUNTERPLATE

PREPARATION
Procedure:

  • Sand well to roughen the surface (with 60 grit sandpaper).
  • Clean with Texnov Surface Preparer according to the dilution table below.
  • Let the surface dry for 24 hours.
  • Seal your joints with an elastomeric polyurethane caulk (e.g. Adbond 009, Sonneborn NP1 caulk or equivalent) taking care to seal only the joints.
  • Allow to dry according to the manufacturer’s instructions before applying the finish coat.

FINISHING COAT
Procedure:

  • You can fill the screw heads with TexNov acrylic coating (the screws must be stainless: zinc, ceramic).
  • Apply 2 coats of TexNov Acrylic Coating. Use a brush or a roller with 10 mm bristles (24 hours between each application of sealant).
  • Allow the surface to dry for 24 hours before applying the sealant.

Note:

  • The TexNov acrylic coating will not mask all defects due to an unevenly installed substrate.
SEALANT
Procedure:

  • Apply 2 coats of Met-30 sealer. Use a brush or a roller with 10 mm bristles and leave 24 hours between each coat.
  • Let the surface dry for 24 hours.

Notes:

  • All wood surfaces within 60 inches of the floor or poorly ventilated should ideally be sealed on all sides with Met-30 sealant. This will prevent premature deterioration of the wood due to the migration of moisture from the ground to the sky.

MAINTENANCE:

Clean the surface with TexNov Surface Preparer (dilute 9 parts of water with 1 part of Preparer). Allow to dry and add a coat of Met-30 sealant every 3 years or as needed. This should keep your surface in good condition.
