Preparation and application procedure

CONCRETE SLABS
PREPARATION
Procedure:

  • If the surface is covered with paint or sealant, remove paint using a sandblaster, a diamond grinder or any other suitable means.
  • Clean the surface with a 3500 lb. rotary, jet pressure washer, gasoline motor (Avaible at tool rental centers.)
  • Dilute 50% of
    Texnov Concrete Conditioner
     with water in a clean separate container.
  • The concrete surface must be wet when applying Texnov Concrete Conditioner.
  • Vigorously brush the surface with the
    Texnov Concrete Conditioner
    .
  • Rince the surface thoroughly wit a pressure water.
  • Let the surface dry over a 48-hour period of good weather.
  • Repair cracks or equalize the surface with All-Purpose Texnov or Texnov 200 Polymer.
  • Apply a layer of All-Purpose Texnov or Texnov 200 Polymer before applying the finish coat.
  • Let the surface dry for 24 to 48 hours of good weather.

Notes:

  • It is important to remove any accesssories sucha a railings, furniture, stairs that could be damaged during the application of the above mentioned products.
  • It is important to protect the fixed surfaces (doors, windows, covering buildings, etc…) using polythene or other appropiate means of protection.
FINISH COATING
After reparing the surface…

Procedure:

  • Apply 2 coats of Texnov Acrylic Coating. Use a brush or roller with 10 mm bristles (24 hours between each coat)
  • Let the surface dry over 24 hours of good weather before applying the sealant.
SEALANT
After preparing the surface and applying the coating (if necessary)

Procedure:

  • Apply 2 coats of Texnov Met-30 Sealant (acrylic sealant). Use a brush or roller with 10 mm bristles (24 hours between each coat).
  • Let the surface dry over 24 hours of good weather before walking on it.

Notes:

  • Sealant is not needed on a vertical surface.
  • Texnov Met-HD Sealant is also recommended for a concrete floor where there’s no acrylic, as well as for a surface that requires greater strength.
MAINTENANCE:

Clean the surface with Texnov Surface Preparer (3 water/ 1 preparer). Let dry and add a coat of Texnov Met-30 or Texnov Met-HD Sealant every 3 years or as needed, which should enable you to keep your surface in good condition.

CONCRETE GARAGE FLOOR
PREPARATION
Procedure:

  • If the floor surface is covered with paint or sealant, remove paint using a sandblaster, a diamond grinder or any other appropriate means.
  • Clean the surface with a 3500 lb. rotary jet pressure washer (Avaible at tool rental centers).
  • Dilute Texnov Concrete Conditioner 50% with water in a clean separate container.
  • The concrete surface must be wet when applying Texnov Concrete Conditioner.
  • Vigorously brush the surface with the Texnov Concrete Conditioner.
  • Rinse the surface thoroughly with a pressure washer.
  • Let the surface dry for 48 hours.
  • Install a coat of Texnov 200 Polymer over the entire surface.
  • Let the surface dry for 24 hours prior to applying the finish coating.
FINISH COATING
After preparing the surface…

Procedure:

  • Apply 2 coats of Texnov Acrylic Coating. Use a brush or roller with 10 mm. bristles (24 hours between each coat). Or apply the Rus-Tex Texnov or Sand-Tex Texnov coating with a trowel.
  • Let the surface dry for 24 hours prior to applying the sealant.
SEALANT
After preparing the surface and applying the coating (if neccessary)…

Procedure:

  • Apply 2 coats of Texnov Met-HD Sealant. Use a brush or roller with 10 mm bristles (48 hours between each coat).
  • Let the surface dry 48 hours before walking on it.
  • Wait 30 days before entering a vehicle.
MAINTENANCE:

Clean the surface with Texnov Surface Preparer (3 water/ 1 preparer). Let dry and add a coat of Texnov Met-HD Sealant every 3 years or as needed, which should enable you to keep your surface in good condition.

CONCRETE FOUNDATION
PREPARATION
Procedure:

  • If your foundation is covered with old roughcast wich is coming off or any other unstable materials, remove them by using the appropriate tools. Remove any paint using a sandblaster, a diamond grinder or any other suitable means.
  • Clean the surface with a 3500 lb. rotary, jet pressure washer, gasoline motor (Avaible at tool rental centers)
  • Dilute Texnov Concrete Conditioner 50% with water in a clean separate container.
  • The concrete surface must be wet when applying Texnov Concrete Conditioner.
  • Vigorously brush the surface with the Texnov Concrete Conditioner.
  • Allow 15 minutes to act keeping the surface wet at all times.
  • Rinse the surface thoroughly with a pressure water.
  • Let the surface dry over 48 hours of good weather.
  • Repair cracks or equalize the surface with All-Purpose Texnov Polymer.
  • Let the surface dry over a 24, 48 – hour period of good weather.

Notes:

  • All defects, metal, rods, etc…Must be repaired with All-Purpose Texnov Polymer or Texnov 200 before applying the finish coating for a smooth result.
  • For a defect-free result, we recommend that you apply a coat of Texnov 200 in which a fiberglass mesh is incorporated.
FINISH COATING
After preparing surface…

Procedure:

  • Apply 2 coats of Texnov Acrylic Coating. Use a brush or roller with 10 mm bristles (24 hours between each coat).
  • Let surface dry over a 24-hour period of good weather.
SEALANT
The sealant is not needded for a concrete foundation surface.
MAINTENANCE:

Clean the surface with Texnov Surface Preparer (3 water / 1 preparer)

FRESHLY POURED CONCRETE
PREPARATION
Not applicable
FINISH COATING
Not applicable
SEALANT
For a freshly poured concrete floor done on the same day.

Procedure:

  • Once concrete floor is dry (as soon as you can walk on it). Apply he Texnov Met-30 Sealant as a curing agent. Use a brush or roller with 10 mm bristles or a sprayer.
