Preparation and application procedure

CONCRETE SLABS
PREPARATION
Procedure :

  • If the surface is covered with paint or sealant, remove the paint using a sandblaster, diamond grinder or other appropriate means.
  • Clean the surface with a 2000-pound water pressure washer with rotary jet, gasoline engine, available at tool rental centers.
  • In a clean container, dilute TexNov Reduced Surface Preparation with 3 parts water.
  • The concrete surface must be damp when applying TexNov Surface Preparer.
  • Rinse the surface thoroughly with a pressure washer.
  • Allow the surface to dry for 24 hours in good weather.
  • Repair cracks with TexNov All Purpose Polymer or TexNov 200.
  • Apply a coat of TexNov All Purpose Polymer or TexNov 200 before applying the finishing coat.
  • Allow the surface to dry for 24 hours in good weather before applying the finishing coat.

Notes:

  • It is important to remove all accessories such as handrails, furniture, stairs, etc. that could be damaged during the application of the above mentioned products.
  • It is important to protect fixed surfaces (doors, windows, building coverings, etc.) with polythene or other appropriate protection.
FINISH COATING
Procedure :

  • Apply two coats ofTexNov Acrylic Coating using a brush or roller with 10 mm bristles and allow 24 hours for drying between coats.
  • Let the surface dry for 24 hours in good weather before applying the sealant.
SEALANT
After having done the surface preparation and the application of the coating (if necessary)…

Procedure :

  • Apply 1 coat of Met-30 TexNov Sealer (acrylic sealer).
  • Wait 72 hours and apply 1 coat of TexNov Met-HD.
  • Use a brush or roller with 10 mm bristles, allowing 24 hours of drying time between each coat.
  • Let the surface dry for 24 hours in good weather before walking on it.

Notes:

  • On a vertical surface, the sealant is not mandatory.
  • Met-HD TexNov is also recommended on concrete floors where there is no acrylic, as well as on surfaces that require greater resistance.
MAINTENANCE :

Clean the surface with TexNov Surface Preparer by diluting 9 parts water to 1 part product. Let dry and add a coat of Met-30 or Met-HD Sealer every 3 years or as needed, which should allow you to keep your surface in good condition.

CONCRETE GARAGE FLOOR
PREPARATION
Procedure :

  • If the surface is covered with paint or sealant, remove the paint using a sandblaster, diamond grinder or other appropriate means.
  • Clean the surface with a 2500 pound water pressure washer with a rotating jet (available at tool rental centers).
  • In a clean container, dilute TexNov Reduced Surface Preparation with 3 parts water.
  • The concrete surface must be damp when applying TexNov Surface Preparation Cleaner.
  • Rinse the surface thoroughly with a pressure washer.
  • Allow the surface to dry for 24 hours in good weather.
  • Apply a coat of TexNov 200 over the entire surface (allow to dry for 24 hours).
  • Allow the surface to dry for 24 hours before applying the finishing coat.
FINISH COATING
Procedure :

  • Apply 2 coats of TexNov acrylic filler . Use a brush or roller with 10 mm bristles, allowing 24 hours of drying time between each coat. Alternatively, please use Rus-Tex TexNov or Sand-Tex TexNov trowelable coating.
  • Allow the surface to dry for 24 hours before applying the sealant.
SEALANT
After having done the surface preparation and the application of the coating (if necessary)…

Procedure :

  • Apply 2 coats of Met-HD TexNov Sealer, using a brush or roller with 10 mm bristles and allow 24 hours between coats.
  • Let the surface dry for 24 hours in good weather before walking on it.
  • Wait 30 days before entering a vehicle.
MAINTENANCE :

Clean the surface with TexNov Surface Preparer diluted with 9 parts water to 1 part product. Let dry and add a coat of Met-HD Sealer every 3 years or as needed, which should allow you to keep your surface in good condition.

CONCRETE FOUNDATION
PREPARATION
Procedure :

  • If your foundation is covered with old peeling plaster or any other unstable material, remove it using the appropriate tools. If there is paint, remove it using a sandblaster, diamond grinder or other suitable means.
  • Clean the surface with a 3500-pound gasoline-powered rotary pressure washer, available at tool rental centers.
  • In a clean container, dilute TexNov Surface Preparer with 3 parts water.
  • The concrete surface must be damp when applying TexNov Surface Preparer.
  • Leave on for 15 minutes, keeping the surface wet at all times.
  • Rinse the surface thoroughly with the pressure washer.
  • Allow the surface to dry for 24 hours in good weather.
  • Repair cracks or level the surface with TexNov All Purpose Polymer or TexNov 200.
  • Allow the surface to dry for 24 hours in good weather before applying the finishing coat.

Notes:

  • All imperfections, metal pins and other imperfections must be repaired with TexNov or TexNov 200 All-Purpose Polymer before applying the finishing coat for a uniform result.
  • For a flawless result, it is recommended to install a layer of TexNov 200 into which a fiberglass mesh is incorporated.
FINISH COATING
Procedure :

  • Apply 2 coats of TexNov acrylic filler . Use a brush or roller with 10 mm bristles and allow 24 hours between coats.
  • Let the surface dry for 24 hours.
SEALANT
Sealer is not necessary in the case of a concrete floor, although it will facilitate the washing.
MAINTENANCE :

Clean the surface with TexNov Surface Preparer by diluting 9 parts of water to 1 part of Preparer.

FRESH CONCRETE
PREPARATION

FINISH COATING
Does not apply
SEALANT
For a freshly poured concrete floor the same day.

Procedure :

  • Once the concrete is dry on the surface (as soon as you can walk on it).
  • Apply Met-30 TexNov sealer as a curing agent. Use a brush or roller with 10 mm bristles or sprayer.
